On October 26, 2004 I entered a post called " The state of the US and it's relation with Japan / World". Well, I recently found a few articles by the A/P that kind of support some of my claims, especially the "obesity problem" and the "immigration problem". Both of these issues are issues that I strongly feel need to be addressed in the US and that are going to continue to get worse and lead to many other problems as we are beginning to see. I believe in order to really correct these problems it is going to take some major additions to the education system (spending more time on health and nutrition education and more foreign culture / language integration into or schools society). I don't mean just Spanish either. I really believe that some of the main reasons that other countries are able to compete with us so succesfully is because of their undertanding of the US society, culture and language. I beleieve a much larger percentage of citizens in other nations know way more about the US culture and society than Americans do about others. Of course raising the educational standards will most likely increase the tax burden among US citizens (tax law reform is a whole different story) but it is really needed. Next to Healthcare reform this is probably the second most important issue.
Well, you are right about the obesity problem in the states. The problem is that all the lobbyists in Washington D.C. will never allow the proper education of the masses to solve the problem. For example, do you think the US politicians will ever suggest that products with corn syrup are causing obesity, given the fact that the Iowa citizens and corn growers are the first to cast votes for the next President of the United States?

Do americans realiase how funny the rest of the world thinks they are with stories like "sports stadium has to replace all the seats to fit the size of Americans widening asses!!" As for americans understanding of the rest of the world... with you all the way..!! You are right! The rest of the world actually understands Americans position in the world better than most US citizens do!!

I’m glad to see that someone sees obesity as a serious problem. The US has a real problem, and its called bribes, and persuasive reasoning. For example high ranking politicians determine what is good and bad for us. One resent example of this is Donald Rumsfeld agreed to allow aspartame a toxic sweetener to be used in foods. This after marketers persuaded him aspartame was harmless. The facts of the matter are Rumsfeld doesn’t know anything about chemicals and health. Companies are now taking products and loading them full of these toxic chemicals, and advertising them as healthy and fat free. Consumers don’t know there is anything wrong with the products. But in fact aspertain causes cancers, diseases, and intestinal problems, which actually cause more weight gain then anything else. The sad truth is that aspartame is not the only chemical in our food. There are dozens of harmful weight gaining chemicals, and sometimes the product labels don’t list these chemicals when there in small amounts. You would half to be a nutritionist and a researcher to know all that is messed up with are food. They are the ones that should make rules for our food not politicians!

If a man comes to your front door and says he is conducting a survey And asks you to show him your bum, do not show him your bum. This is a scam. He only wants to see your bum. I wish I had got this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap. -The Bum http://www.widgetmate.com/posters Some of the best images available for free.
